InterGlobe Technology Quotient has launched a platform, Travelport Rooms and More, in the Indian market. This will help travel agents in India to offer ‘efficient and evolved’ booking services for hotels, the company said.
Travelport Rooms and More is a web-based hotel price comparison and booking engine. InterGlobe Technology Quotient (ITQ) is the official distributor of Travelport Galileo in India and Sri Lanka.
The company said the new booking platform would offer access to over 6,00,000 hotel properties with over a million offers. According to the company’s estimates, currently, the inventory accessible to corporate and leisure travel agents in India stands at 90,000 properties across the world.
J.B. Singh, CEO, InterGlobe Technology Quotient, said, “India is a significant market for ITQ. With Indian outbound tourism growing in a big way, the new booking engine for hotels will help travel agents offer a wide range of prices and deals to their consumers.”
Singh said the company would next look at tying up with Indian hotel aggregators to get access to the large unorganised hotel market in the country. He said India was one of the first few markets where this new hotel booking engine had been launched by Travelport, which will be expanded to nearly 70 markets.
