Jakson Group has installed a 4 mw grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) plant at Bina Refinery of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
As part of the project, Jakson has to supply, install and commission the solar power plant, along with operation and maintenance services, for 5 years through an integrated service package for the project, which was commissioned on March 30, 2016, the company said in a press release on Saturday.
The plant has been developed near refinery on BPCL’s own land. The proposed solar power plant is feeding 2 mw (AC) power to Bina-Kota Pipeline (BKP) sub-station within the refinery and 2 mw (AC) power to Bina Dispatch Terminal (BDT) sub-station within the refinery.
It is the first time in India that HT motors are being used for transmission of petroleum products and the pipeline is being run by solar power, said S K Agarwal, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs.
