Legacy Iron Ore Ltd, the Australian subsidiary of Indian miner NMDC Ltd, has appointment of Rakesh Gupta as its Chief Executive Officer. Gupta would join Legacy from BHP Billiton in January.

A mining engineer worked at BHP Billiton in the area of iron ore in mine planning and strategic replacement projects and in the development of the life of mining assets.

Gupta also brings with him significant skills in pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, having worked at consulting firms AMEC Minproc and SRK Consulting for several years, including assisting FMG. He also worked for Barrick Gold of Australia, and Ararat Gold Recovery Company in Armenia as a Technical Services Manager.

Gupta will be paid remuneration of Australian $250,000 per annum, Legacy said. Australian Stock Exchange listed Legacy with several exploration licences in iron ore and gold mining in Australia is expected to add momentum to miner’s activities.
