Riding on its rising popularity, Mahindra Adventure plans to set up its second off-road training academy but a final decision on the location is yet to be taken.
At present, Mahindra Adventure runs the country’s only off-road training academy at Igatpuri, near Nashik in Maharashtra.
“Mahindra Adventure off-road training academy has become popular and we have requests of making it accessible. We do have plans of opening another franchise but where and when needs to be decided,” a company official said, declining to be identified before a formal announcement.
“We are in the process and it would be done shortly,” he said. Mahindra Adventure is Mahindra & Mahindra’s experiential marketing initiative. Off-roading is driving or riding specialised vehicle on non-motorable terrains such as riverbeds, hills, rocky areas and other natural terrain.

The academy’s off-road fleet comprises 30 vehicles including Mahindra Thars CRDe 4x4, Mahindra MM550 4WD, Mahindra Bolero 4WD, Mahindra Major 4WD and Mahindra Scorpio 4WD.
The academy, which was set up in March 2013, has trained more than 800 drivers till date, most of them from the major cities and towns.
The off-road academy operates three levels of courses starting with the basic Getting Dirty, which offers training on 4x4s, intermediate Trail Survivor and the advanced Global Explorer.
