Marriott International has launched its business hotel brand Courtyard by Marriott at the industrial and auto hub of Chakan near Pune. This is the tenth Courtyard and the 19th Marriott property to become operational in India. It is also the fourth Marriott in Pune and the first international star hotel in the Chakan-Talegaon belt.

 

Rajeev Menon, Area VP, South Asia, Marriott International said that the company planned to open three more properties in India in the next 45 days, including Fairfield Inn at Bangalore, the first in the APAC region, in October. This will be the global hotel chain’s sixth brand to come to India. Marriott has an aggressive pipeline of 45 hotels that are currently under construction.

 

The new hotel, which has a Gold Leed Certification, has 175 rooms including 12 residence suites and is positioned as a premier hotel that can cater both to the business and leisure traveller. The features include outdoor and indoor meeting spaces, high speed internet access and a showcase area for car launches, Ritu Chawla, GM of the hotel said.
