Tata Power said that the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission has renewed its electricity distribution licence for Mumbai for the next 25 years.
A statement from Tata Power said it has been providing reliable, uninterrupted power supply on 24x7 basis and would continue to strive for the same.
Tata Power also said it would support BEST's case for transport subsidy to be rationalised across each electricity unit collected so that it is not just left to BEST to collect the same. It will also make sure that BEST's margin of business is not affected adversely as it has been a long-term participant in the power supply system in Mumbai.
