Independent power producer in the renewable energy space Mytrah Energy has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Birla Institute of Technological Sciences (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad for collaborative R&D initiatives.

The partnership will focus on areas of product development, research, technical support as well as training and development.

The memorandum includes software and hardware development, faculty consultancy projects and fellowship for students working on the joint projects. As part of this collaboration, joint initiatives on big data analytics, condition monitoring and foundation analysis for wind turbines would be pursued further.

Prof. G Sundar, Director, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus said, “With increasing demand for renewable energy resources, there is an urgent need to foster intellectual potential well- equipped with knowledge base and synchronised with changing global energy needs.”

“The industry-institute partnership in projects at different levels is part of BITS-Pilani's continuous engagement with the outside world. It provides students and faculty opportunities to work on live projects catering to societal needs. The partnership with Mytrah Energy is an initiative in this direction," he said.

Mytrah Energy currently has an active development pipeline of about 3000 MW of wind energy and 500 MW of solar energy.
