Production at the iron ore mines of National Mineral Development Corporation at Bacheli in Chattisgarh was affected after suspected Naxalites burnt down a stretch of the conveyor belt there in the early hours today.
Company sources said about 150 mts of belt, costing about Rs 2 crore, was damaged.
It would take about three days to repair the damaged belt and resume operations. The complex produces 20,000 tonnes of iron ore daily.
