Switzerland-based Holcim Group, which is under the process of revamping its holdings in India, has appointed Bernard Terver as additional director on the board of ACC Ltd, a group company, with effect from Wednesday.
Terver is a representative of the promoters – Holcim India and Holderind Investments – on the ACC board, the company said in a statement.
Terver has also been inducted as additional director on the board of Ambuja Cements Ltd, another subsidiary of Holcim Group.
Graduated from Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, in 1976, Terver has work experience of over 35 years in the cement business. He has been in the service of Holcim Ltd since 1994, holding senior positions including that of CEO of Holcim Colombia and Holcim US.
The board also re-appointed Kuldip Kaura as the CEO and MD for one year with effect from January 1, 2014.
In a similar development, UltraTech Cement, part of the Aditya Birla Group, has appointed Arun Adhikari as additional independent director on board with effect from Tuesday.
Adhikari is an alumni of Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur and Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta.
He has also undergone an Advanced Management Programme at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, US.
