Lakshmi Venu, Director – Strategy, Sundaram Clayton, a TVS Group company, has been given the responsibility of exploring business opportunities and expansion in the domestic and international markets, according to a company information to the BSE.
The company supplies aluminium die castings for automotive and other sectors with a total capacity of 50,000 tonnes a year. Its sales in 2012-13 were $205 million. About 60 per cent of its sales comes from exports and the balance from the domestic market, according to information available on the company’s Web site.
Lakshmi Venu, daughter of Venu Srinivasan, Chairman, TVS Motor Company, will also co-ordinate the company’s financial and budgetary activities to fund operations and improve efficiency. The decision was taken by the board on October 29, the company said in the announcement.
She was appointed to the post of Director – Strategy in the rank of Managing Director for a five-year period March 2010 to March 2015.
