Milind Sarwate, former Chief Financial Officer of the Marico Group, has been roped in by the Rajesh Wadhawan Group, the promoters of home loan company Dewan Housing Finance Ltd (DHFL). While Sarwate has joined as member of its Group Management Centre, Ravishankar Gopalakrishnan, former acting CEO of Jet Airways, has also joined the group.
More to joinSarwate told Business Line : “The Rajesh Wadhawan Group has constituted a Group Management Centre (GMC) to transform the group into a financial services conglomerate, by enhancing the group’s capabilities. Over the next few weeks, more professionals with a proven track record would be inducted in the GMC.”
As member of the GMC for financial services, Sarwate would look after strategy, while Ravishankar Gopalakrishnan has joined as member-finance.
The Group’s flagship, DHFL was founded to provide financial access to people in the lower and middle income (LMI) segments.
As Sarwate pointed out: “The group has been serving the LMI segments for over three decades now. It is well placed to leverage on the fact that India has reached the tipping point for explosive growth in financial services.”
