Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, the corporate entity of Vizag Steel, has notched up a turnover of ₹10,406 crore in the first 10 months of the fiscal, representing a 3 per cent growth over last year.

In January, the steel major registered an 8 per cent growth in turnover at ₹1,309 crore.

The new units under the expansion programme got off to a good start last month, with the first casting of rounds from the new steel melt shop and rolling of wire rod coils from the new wire rod mill.

P Madhusudan, CMD, said the company was working towards early completion of the modernisation plans, which would further shore up production levels.
