The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited - Visakhapatnam steel plant (RINL) has so far spent Rs 10 crores this year on corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, according to a press release.
CMD A.P Choudhary advised the officials at a review meeting on Tuesday to focus more on health care, people's care, education and infrastructure development in villages.
The officials informed the CMD that during the current financial year the RINL had so far spent Rs 10 crores on various CSR initiatives, registering growth of 55 per cent over the corresponding period of last year.
Financial support was given to the transport department of the AP Govt. for construction of scientific driving test track at Aganampudi in Visakhapatnam. Financial assistance of Rs 75 lakh was extended to the Chief Minister's flood relief fund, Uttarakhand.
Additional facilities and renovation works were taken up at the King George Hospital here. Support was given to the super specialty mega medical camp at Garividi in Vizianagaram district, benefiting 15,000 people.
The fourth Vizag Steel Cup Football Tournament was held here through Visakhapatnam District Football Association. State- of- the-art surgical equipment was provided to the Govt. ENT hospital here.
