The oldest motorcycle brand — Royal Enfield — today said it has opened two exclusive stores in Madrid and Paris, as part of its growth strategy in Europe.

Besides launching its retail stores in the two cities, the company also unveiled its gear collection for the first time in these markets, said the two-wheeler division of Eicher Motors, Royal Enfield, in a statement.

The new stores are part of the company’s growth strategy in Europe and its thrust of expanding the global mid-sized motorcycle segment of 250-750cc, it added.

“France and Spain represent two of the most important markets for us in Europe. We have witnessed immense growth in both France and Spain, which is fuelled by our close proximity to customers in these regions through a wide distribution network and increasing dealerships in the past few months,” Royal Enfield International Business Head Arun Gopal said.

Royal Enfield has 80 dealerships across France and 25 in Spain and is expanding its presence in these markets.

In France, Royal Enfield witnessed 60 per cent growth in the first seven months of 2015, as compared to the same period last year and has plans of opening close to three more such stores in the coming year.

In Spain, while the two-wheeler market has grown 23 per cent, the company has received a very encouraging response, reporting a sales growth of over 300 per cent between January-August 2015, over the same period in the previous year.
