RSB Transmissions, designer and manufacturer of systems aggregates used in the automotive, construction and farm equipment sectors, has set up a new plant at Silao in central Mexico. This is the company's 13th manufacturing plant globally.

Mr R.K. Behera, Chairman, RSB Transmissions, said that the plant will involve an investment of $ 50-60 million over the next three years. “We have clients (OEMs) in North America who have set up manufacturing bases in Mexico. We will supply to them as well as try to develop new customers in Latin American markets like Brazil and Argentina.” He expects the revenue from the Mexican operations to touch $ 80-100 million in the next four years.

Inaugurating the plant on April 27, the Governor, Mr Juan Manuel Olivia Ramirez Olivia, said that RSB Transmissions de Mexico, the 156th automotive company in Guanajuato, would strengthen the competitiveness and global position of the automotive cluster of the State.

RSB is a manufacturer of propeller shafts and components, axles, finished gears and shafts and transmission components such as differential cases, yokes and carriers. In the construction equipment segment, it is a manufacturer of heavy fabrications and aggregates like frames, arms, booms and buckets.

In FY11, it grew over 64 per cent to achieve a top-line of Rs 1,040 crore.
