US-based luxury mattress brand Sealy Posturepedic inaugurated “Sealy Mattress Studio” here at Kokapet, close to the IT hub, making it the company's second showroom in the city.
It plans to open more outlets in the country. The Studio will showcase beds in the price range of Rs 40,000 to Rs 11 lakh.
After store opening, Marco Gugliucciello, Business Head, Asia Pacific, Sealy, in a statement said, “Currently, we have 7 showrooms across India and would like to add another two showrooms in Andhra Pradesh and six outlets across the country. We have no plans to open any company showrooms. All these showrooms will be the franchisee outlets,” he said
“We have 550 outlets in the Asia Pacific Region,” Marco said.
The country's branded mattress market is estimated to be about Rs 3000 crore. Of this, luxury mattress brands account for 2 to 3 per cent.
The first Sealy mattress was made in a small town ‘Sealy’ in Texas, USA. Since then it has spread to a number of countries as a leading supplier of mattresses.
