Kolkata-based Skipper Ltd, reported a near 173 per cent increase in net profit to the tune of Rs 31 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2015. The net profit in the corresponding period last fiscal stood at Rs 11 crore.

Total income during the period increased to Rs 500 crore (Rs 431 crore), up by 16 per cent over the year-ago period.

For the full year the company reported an over 230 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 89 crore, up from the Rs 27 crore it reported in FY-14. Net income stood at Rs 1,313 crore (Rs 1,042 crore).

Skipper is one of the manufacturers and suppliers of towers for power transmission and telecom, PVC, GI and SWR pipes and fittings. Its order book as on March 2015 stands at Rs 2,400 crore. International orders make up for 45 per cent of these orders.
