Power solutions provider Su-Kam is targeting Rs 350 crore from solar projects it is setting up in this financial year, a top company official said today.
“We have set a target to achieve sale of Rs 350 crore which will come up from setting up solar power projects in current fiscal,” said Dhananjay Sharma, GM, Solar Network-Domestic & Global Business Division.
The company had clocked a turnover of Rs 100 crore in the last fiscal.
Sharma said the company would focus on establishing rooftop solar power projects from minimum range of 1 MW to maximum of 100 MW in residential, commercial and institutional space.
The awareness about rooftop solar power projects is still very low in India, but the company is committed to developing and promoting this segment in a big way, he added.
“The power situation in the country is abysmal at the moment. To overcome the same, we are offering our customers these pocket friendly range of solar products that shall not only help them in cutting down their hefty electricity bills but also reduce their carbon footprint in the long run,” Sharma said.
The size of rooftop power projects is set to reach 1,700 MW in 2013-14 from 850 MW last fiscal.
Asked about expansion, Sharma said the company is coming up with a new facility at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh which will entail an investment of Rs 70 crore having a capacity of 2.5 lakh units of solar items per month.
“The new facility will come up in January next year,” he said.
