Surya Roshni, which makes lighting products and steel pipes, posted a net profit of Rs 18.54 crore, up 40 per cent in the quarter ended December 2012, compared with Rs 13.23 crore in the corresponding previous period.
Its gross sales grew by 22.28 per cent to Rs 774.97 crore, from Rs 633.76 crore. The company said it has declared a second interim dividend of 10 per cent.
New products
B. Raju (Raju Bista), Managing Director, Surya Roshni said, “The performance of lighting division continues to show robust growth. The higher sales have partly been accounted for by new products such as LEDs, new lighting systems and geographical expansion. In the steel division, we have introduced a new range of steel pipes which have been well received by the customers. We look forward to continuing strong performance in quarters ahead.”
