Tata Motors’ global vehicle sales, including that of subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover, rose 6 per cent in October from a year earlier. The company sold a total of 1,00,660 units to dealers (wholesales) during the month.
The cumulative wholesales (April to October) for the fiscal rose 7 per cent to 6,79,051 units from the corresponding period in 2011-12, Tata Motors said in a statement.
The company’s global wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover, which fell in September, rose 7 per cent to 27,897 vehicles in October.
Tata Motors’ global wholesales of all commercial vehicles — Tata, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera range — rose 19 per cent to 51,396 units in October. Its cumulative wholesales for the fiscal rose 4 per cent to 3,34,941 units.
However, the global wholesales of all passenger vehicles fell 5 per cent to 49,264 units in October 2012. The cumulative wholesales for the fiscal stood at 3,44,110, up 10 per cent from the same period a year ago.
The global wholesales of Tata passenger vehicles fell 17 per cent to 21,367 units during the reporting month, while cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were flat at 1,55,319 units.
