Tata Power, one of the power distribution utilities in Mumbai, has said it added 1,31,911 consumers since January 2014.
The company’s consumer base has risen to over 5.5 lakh, of which 70 per cent draw below 300 units. The company has also added 702 km of cable network in 2014.
Anil Sardana, MD and CEO, Tata Power, said, “Tata Power has been associated with the legacy of Mumbai as a business city for almost a century now. Tata Power aims to consistently meet the ever-growing power needs of its Mumbai consumers with efficient transmission and distribution of energy, superior service, and constant upgradation of technology.”
Reliance Infrastructure, which is the largest utility, has a base of about 28 lakh consumers, with 23 lakh consumers drawing less than 300 units.
