Tata Steel has reported 7 per cent increase in saleable steel output in the March quarter at 2.43 million tonnes (2.26 mt). It managed to achieve 6 per cent sales growth at 2.41 mt. The company’s hot metal and crude steel production was up 8 per cent each 2.66 mt (2.46 mt) and 2.48 mt (2.30 mt), respectively. For the fiscal ended March, the company’s sales were up 14 per cent at 8.52 mt (7.48 mt), while saleable steel output increased 12 per cent to 8.93 mt. The company’s shares were down 3 per cent at ₹408.
