UK-based Mining Machinery Developers (MMD) has commenced construction of their new plant in Sri City special economic zone in Andhra Pradesh.
MMD manufacturers a slew of mining equipment such as mineral sizers, heavy duty apron plate feeder and sizer stations.
Ken Kote, Managing Director, said the company has 15 acres in Sri City to set up their manufacturing facility.
It is investing Rs 100 crore in the first phase with an initial employment of over 200 people.
“The unit will be constructed in a year and production will commence immediately afterwards,” he said in a statement.
Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City, said: “We are confident more companies from the UK will set up their facilities here.”
