Software exports from the united Andhra Pradesh in 2013-14 have been pegged at ₹57,000 crore, a 14 per cent growth over the previous year. The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has compiled the figures, gathering inputs from the software exporters under its purview for the last financial year. “The industry generated 3.23 lakh jobs during the year,” Harpreet Singh, Secretary of Information Technology and Communications Department of Telangana, has said. Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated on June 2, carving out the 29{+t}{+h} State in the country. Majority of the exports happen from Hyderabad, with the cities in the residual Andhra Pradesh contributing less than two per cent.
