Tata-Singapore Airlines (SIA) joint venture airline Vistara was today granted flying permit in India by aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This will allow the new start-up to begin operations.
While a statement from the airline said that it had got the Air Operator Permit, it was silent on when Vistara will begin operations.
“Vistara will soon make an announcement on the start of sales, routes and schedules,” the statement adds and quotes its CEO Phee Teik Yeoh as saying, “Our focus on customer service excellence coupled with unique product offerings will ensure a seamless travel experience to our customers.”
In September 2013, Tata Sons and SIA announced the joint venture and applied to the Foreign Investment Promotion Board for approval.
