Vodafone Business Services (VBS), the enterprise arm of Vodafone India, has launched an initiative to help medium sized businesses “become more agile and future ready”, even as the company seeks to increase revenue from corporate customers.

As part of the programme, launched last week, VBS will assess the business readiness of medium sized entities, and provide them technological solutions to accelerate growth.

Medium sized businesses are those with a turnover between ₹50 crore and ₹500 crore.

Integrated solutions

Once the business readiness score-sheet is done, Vodafone will offer “integrated technology solutions” customised for them, said Deepak Pande, Executive Vice-President and Head – SME Business, Vodafone India. “The solutions will help make businesses more agile and future ready,” he told reporters.

The companies will have to register with Vodafone to begin the process. It can be done mostly online, or in some cases, sales representatives of the telecom company will carry out the survey. “We are hopeful of witnessing around 5,000 registrations from West Bengal and Sikkim (a key market region for VBS), and around 20,000 nationally,” Pande said. A similar initiative with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) saw around 1,50,000 registrations over the last three years.

Currently, West Bengal and Sikkim account for around ₹350 crore of the revenues of the VBS segment.

Nationally, the VBS segment accounts for 13 per cent of the total turnover of Vodafone India.

The SME segment has a 4 per cent share in the telecom company’s India turnover.
