Chennai-based electrical systems service provider Voltech Group has floated Solacon Energy Park to set up a solar energy facility in Tamil Nadu.
The Group is partnering with Arab Gulf Pearl Trading Co, UAE, and NanoPV, US, for Solacon, which will set up a 10MW, grid-linked, solar power generation facility in Ramanathapuram District.
The company has 150 acres land available to it near Kadaladi, according to M. Umapathi, Chairman, Voltech Group.
He told media-persons that a 2 MW plant will be in place by March 2013 and will be expanded to 10 MW by March 2014.
The company is also open to BOOT projects if investors evince interest in solar power. Its partner NanoPV gives it access to proprietary technology that ensures efficiency, he said.
It is looking at third-party sale of power and grid supply to the utility.
