The Finance Ministry has extended the date for payment of the December instalment of advance tax by two days.
Since December 15 falls on a Sunday and banks will be closed, the deadline has been extended by the Central Board of Direct Taxes, the apex policy making body for direct taxes , to December 17.
This would not entail any consequential interest for deferment.
