Spot pepper prices ruled steady on matching demand and supply. Inter-State buyers were actively covering. As the prices crossed ₹700 a kg, those dealers and farmers holding pepper started releasing their produce. On the terminal market, 31 tonnes arrived from the plains (10 tonnes) Wayanad (10 tonnes) and High Ranges (11 tonnes) were traded. Spot prices remained steady at ₹69,000 (ungarbled) and ₹72,000 (garbled) a quintal. December futures on the IPSTA platform increased by ₹1,000 a quintal to ₹73,000 . Export prices were at $11,300 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,550 for the US.
