Former Chief Secretary of Gujarat DJ Pandian has been appointed as the Vice-President, Chief Investment Officer of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
“The primary responsibility of the Chief Investment Officer is leading the planning and supervision of the Bank’s infrastructure investment by promoting sustainable investment throughout Asia,” said the Finance Ministry on Wednesday.
The 1981 batch Indian Administrative Service officer earlier headed Gujarat’s industries and mines departments and also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation. He was also involved in organising the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015. With a corpus of $ 100 million, the multilateral Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is expected to start operations later this year.
