The Finance Ministry has extended the validity of existing anti-dumping duty on viscose filament yarn (VFY) imports from China by one year.
The anti-dumping duty would now be valid until May 3 next year, the Revenue Department has said.
The Revenue Department move follows the sunset review investigation initiated by the Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry in the last week of April.
The petition seeking sunset review investigation was filed by Kesoram Rayon (unit of Cygnet Industries Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kesoram Industries Ltd) and Indian Rayon (a unit of Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd). Century Rayon, a division of Century Textiles and Industries Ltd, had supported the petition.
In May 2012, the Revenue Department had imposed an anti dumping duty that ranged from 5.04 per cent to 16.90 per cent. This duty was valid for five years.
