Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai has been rated the second best airport globally in the ‘over 40 million passengers per year’ category at the Airport Service Quality Awards 2016 conducted by the Airports Council International.
This recognition was conferred upon CSIA after it was appraised by passengers in a year-long survey carried out by ACI, the trade association of the world’s airports.
The recognition is a testament to efforts towards offering quality services to travellers transiting through the airport. CSIA previously had the honour of being rated as one of the world’s top airports in the 25-40 million passenger category by the ASQ survey for 2015, making this year the sixth consecutive year of it being named among the world’s top airports.
CSIA was inducted into the ACI Director-General’s Roll of Excellence for having consistently delivered excellence in customer service for five years in a row.
Mumbai Airport was also voted the best airport in India and Central Asia by Skytrax World Airport Awards 2016, another much sought after recognition in the aviation industry internationally.
GVK Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd (MIAL) is a public-private partnership joint venture between a GVK-led consortium and the Airports Authority of India (AAI). GVK MIAL was awarded the mandate for operating and modernising Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai (CSIA).
