Barely a month after the launch of Ola Outstation, offering inter-city travel, the taxi cab aggregator has come out with a bouquet of privileges to its customers in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.

The privileges as listed on the Ola blog range from 15-20 per cent off on select hotel/resort stays, F&B and spa therapies, complimentary breakfast, free welcome drink and 25 per cent discount on second night stay.

In addition, Ola is offering a gamut of adventure packages — starting from ₹2,400 per person excluding transport charges — with activities such as rock climbing, Burma bridge, rappelling, valley crossing, commando-net, paragliding, trekking and river crossing. These are on offer at Manali, Kasauli, Shimla, Mashobra, Dharamshala, Dalhousie and Mussoorie.

These efforts are an attempt by Ola to compete with self-drive car companies like Zoomcar, Voler and Myles, which currently offer metro customers attractive weekend getaway car choices from minis to SUVs. The latter offer transparent pricing at hourly rates of ₹55, and take on competition from Uber by increasing their reach across customer segments.

“This is just another ongoing product marketing effort by Ola, which partnered with Myntra sometime back to give Ola customers a free makeover by stylists just by clicking on the LookGood icon on the Ola app,” remarked an industry observer.

For customers in Delhi-NCR, Ola has partnered with Lemon Tree Hotels in eight locations around Delhi: Hotel Combermere and Asia The Dawn in Shimla, Jigaar Resort in Jim Corbett, Pagoda Hotel in Ganganagar (Rajasthan) and Key Hotels in Ludhiana, Jaipur and Gurgaon. Here, discounts on one-night stays range from 15 to 40 per cent.

Customers of Ola Outstation in Bengaluru will get 30 per cent off on hotel stay, inclusive of free wi-fi and complimentary breakfast, at Treebo Hotels.

Mumbaikars get discounts on spas, F&B and hotel stays ranging from 15 to 25 per cent in select locations.

Sidharth Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Treebo, said the tie-up is a co-promotion effort for a limited period.

Ola Outstation has been extended beyond Vadodara, Kochi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bhopal and Bengaluru to 30 cities including major ones like Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Bhopal, and smaller ones such as Mysuru, Siliguri, Ranchi, Durgapur, Hubli-Dharwad, Vijayawada and Surat.

Meanwhile, Ola on Monday introduced in-city luxury travel Ola Lux in Bengaluru. The service, which was launched in Mumbai last month and in Delhi a few weeks ago, offers rides on luxury sedans such as Jaguar, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Toyota Camry & Fortuner and Honda Accord, at a minimum fare of ₹200 and ₹19/km.
