Rail Budget on July 8, Economic Survey on July 9
The Modi-led Government will present its first general Budget on July 10.
This full-fledged Budget — to be presented by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley — will come at a time when expectations are high that the new dispensation will give a booster dose to the sagging Indian economy.
While the Rail Budget will be presented on July 8, the Economic Survey will be tabled in the Lower House on July 9.
The Budget session of Parliament will begin on July 7 and end on August 14.
In all, the Budget session will have a total of 28 sittings over a month-long period.
These decisions were taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs in Parliament House on Monday. At the meeting, the CCPA — headed by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh — decided to take efforts to replace the various ordinances in force with law on a priority basis.
The ordinances that would get attention include the ones on Polavaram project, TRAI Act amendment and SEBI empowerment to tackle ponzi schemes.
