The Centre's net direct tax collections grew 7.43 per cent in April-December 2014 to Rs 4.48 lakh crore (Rs 4.17 lakh crore).
Advance tax collections for the period under review grew 13.15 per cent, higher than the growth of 8.76 per cent recorded in the same period last year, official data showed.
Tax deducted at source (TDS) growth stood at 7.84 per cent against 16.73 per cent in the same period last year, an official release said
Gross direct tax collections grew 13.01 percent to Rs 5.47 lakh crore (Rs 4.84 lakh crore).
While gross corporate tax collections grew 12.54 per cent to Rs 3.50 lakh crore (Rs 3.11 lakh crore), personal income-tax collections grew 12.42 per cent to Rs 1.90 lakh crore (Rs 1.69 lakh crore).
Securities transaction tax (STT) collections during April-December 2014 stood at Rs 4,940 crore, an increase of 43.44 per cent.
