In a major boost for women entrepreneurs, the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), with the support of the Telangana Government, is setting up an exclusive industrial park for women.
Considered to be first such initiative exclusively aimed at backing women entrepreneurs particularly in the micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs), the industrial park will come up in Sultanpur, in Medak district of the State, on a 50-acre site, close to the Outer Ring Road, . The park will be set up about 35 km from the city and 30 minutes drive from the airport.
“The Telangana State Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation Ltd has allotted the land at ₹45 lakh per acre while assuring to allot more land depending upon the response and future requirements of women entrepreneurs,” Jyotsna Angara, National Board Member, FICCI FLO, said.
The FLO TSIIC Women Entrepreneur Industrial Park has already received interest from a number of entrepreneurs in the areas of food processing, apparel and hosiery, supply chain, lifestyle products, solar energy components, LED light firms, furniture units, Padma Rajgopal, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Hyderabad Chapter, said.
The park is expected to get the benefits extended by the Union MSME Ministry in terms of funding for development of infrastructure. This will be in addition to the infrastructure support to be provided by the State infrastructure corporation.
The Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI), one of the oldest industry and trade bodies, expects these exclusive women’s entrepreneurial parks to provide tremendous boost to women to set up their own businesses. The FLO will collaborate with various State Governments to encourage setting up of similar parks for industries, Devendra Surana, FICCI, TS Chapter President, said.
“We will focus on industries which are classified as green, non-polluting, and the accent will be on ensuring green energy norms,” Jyotsna Angara said.
A number of applicants have come up with proposals for new industries in the park. After scrutiny of the applications, allotments will be finalised for entrepreneurs in the park. Land allocations will be made by the infrastructure corporation to the applicants after approval.
