Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the progress of key infrastructure sectors including Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), housing, coal and power.
The Prime Minister called for renewed efforts towards underground mining and coal gasification, through infusion of latest technology inputs, according to an official statement.
The statement also said that under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, about 1.45 lakh of the targeted habitations have so far been connected. So far, 81 per cent of the total targeted habitations have been covered so far. Officials said progress is being made towards connecting all the remaining habitations within a defined timeframe.
The Prime Minister also called for a detailed analysis of the complaints received from the Meri Sadak App.
Modi also said that resources available for this work should be used optimally throughout the year. He also hoped that the advancement of the Union Budget date would lead to further improvement in performance.
Reviewing progress towards the roadmap to deliver one crore houses in the rural areas by 2019, Modi said that the positive impact of housing on the lives of the beneficiaries should be suitably examined.
