A special edition of the “Atlas for Visually Impaired (India)” in English Braille was released here on Friday by Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences. The Atlas, prepared by National Atlas and Thematic Mapping Organisation under the Department of S&T, is priced ₹600 and has 20 maps, covering themes such as physical, socio-economic and cultural aspects, such as river system, natural vegetation, Metropolitan cities, roads, food and cash crops. “Efforts are being made to make these atlases more cost-effective,” said an official release.
