Israel on Thursday expressed concern over growing diplomatic ties between India and Iran. “Iran is encouraging terrorism, including in this city (New Delhi). Iran is encouraging instability in our region. But we will not tell our friends how to conduct their foreign policy,” said Israeli Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon here. He said India is well aware how Israel thinks of India.
He said it is not only Israel that thinks Iran encourages terrorism and instability but there are other countries also. Next year both countries will be celebrating 25 years of diplomatic ties. On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Israel, he said it will happen at an opportune moment and it will be more than “ceremonial”.
