India today launched its flagship diplomacy magazine in Chinese language to give “interesting” information about the country’s rich culture and tradition.
The External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, on her maiden visit to the coummunist nation for bilateral talks, took the opportunity to unveil the Chinese version of India Perspectives.
The magazine, printed in 15 languages and circulated in as many as 170 countries, “disseminates interesting information about India’s rich culture and tradition”, according to the details available on its Web site.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin, took to microblogging site Twitter to convey the news.
“Yindu shijiao — #IndiaPerspectives @IndianDiplomacy’s Flagship Magazine is now available in Chinese,” he tweeted, including a photograph of the magazine’s cover in Chinese language.
“Soft power. India Perspectives now in Chinese. Minister @SushmaSwaraj launches 1st edition in Beijing,” Akbaruddin said in another tweet.
The MEA also posted on its Facebook page a photograph of Swaraj unveiling the magazine in its Chinese version.
