Bigger window, please!

Whenever I open Internet Explorer for browsing, it opens in a smaller window. I have to maximise every time when I open a new window. How can I change my browser settings so that the window always opens in a big window? Please suggest a solution.-- M. Vinodh

Internet Explorer remembers the last setting of the browser window, when you close it last time. Sometimes, it may happen that windows open in a smaller or larger size than we want. Please do the following to reset browser windows to open the size you want.

Close all browser windows and open just one. Stop the browser if it is opening any page, click the restore down button. It is the pair of boxes between the X and the [-] minimise button. Then click the X to close it. Now open a new window it should open maximised.

If this doesn't work, then probably you have problem writing to the registry, where these settings are stored. Please check if you have the following key and whether it is accessible:

Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window_Placement. Double click on the `Window_Placement'. It should contain a binary value. If you have problem accessing it, delete the key. IE will automatically create a new one the next time you open the browser.
