Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Help with CD
I want to create a CD so that I can boot into DOS. I tried making one with Nero V 5.5 (I have a Samsung CD Writer) as described in the help. I made a bootable floppy first as Nero instructs. But when I burn the CD, I get an error. It says: `Caching of files started', and then `File Read Error. Error while reading COMPOSED FILE'. I have tried this many times. What could be the problem? I have Windows 98 and Linux 9.0 on my system. Please suggest a solution. Githin F. Alapatt I think there is some problem in the methodology you have followed or the boot disk is not readable. Please verify that the boot floppy you have created is booting right. You could also try the following procedure. Open Nero, if the "New wizard" appears, click close. You should get a "New Compilation" dialog box. On the left of the dialog box, you will have a list of CD icons resembling different formats of burning. Please scroll and select "CD-ROM (Boot)". On the centre of the dialog box, select the "Bootable logical drive" radio button. Please insert the bootable floppy you have created and click "New". At this stage, you can add any other files you want to include, other than the boot image from the floppy disk and then click the burn icon on the Nero tool bar.
