Installing Windows 2000

I have a Pentium IV assembled computer with 128 MB RAM and 40 GB Hard disk loaded with Windows XP home edition. I want to load MS Personal Web Server, but I learnt that it cannott be loaded on XP home edition. I have Windows 2000 CD, but don't know how to de-install Windows XP and load Windows 2000? Is there any other way to check ASP pages on XP?

One option to have ASP running on XP home edition is by installing Web server extensions using the IIS components of NT 5 beta 2 version.

It is only a workaround and not a solution, as you wouldn't have a full functional Web server.

If you decide to remove Windows XP, then you can do a format and install Window 2000. To do this, please first copy any required folders/files from your C drive and store it to any other drive.

Then start the system with the windows 2000 CD. When you get to the installation screen, select the C partition and select "Format the partition".

This will erase Windows XP and install Windows 2000.
