Remembering passwords

I recently bought a Compaq Pressario with Windows XP Home edition. While defining the passwords for the various sites, I get a box whether "windows should remember the password for future in this computer". Although I click "YES", there is no effect, and every time I have to retype the passwords. I have ticked the "Autocomplete" under Internet Tools option, but this does not seem to be working. How do I enable the memory option in my computer? - Rajan

Please do the following to have the problem solved. Open Internet Explorer, go to tools{gt}Internet options{gt}content{gt}auto complete and tick all the check boxes there.

Next, go to Tools{gt}Internet options{gt}security{gt} and select the Internet icon. Click on `Custom Level' button. In the dialog box that pops up, please scroll to the miscellaneous section and see that `userdata persistence' option is enabled.
