Script errors

I have the following problems:

  • The first one is related to my indiatimes mailbox. I am able to easily check my mails on indiatimes. But I am unable to delete my mails in the mailbox. The procedure that I follow to delete mails is thus: I click on the mails which I want to delete and press the `delete' button.

  • The blue line that is normally seen when the browser is activated does not show up (to indicate that the Web page is being downloaded). Also, when I click the `delete' button in this mailbox, I see a `script' or `JavaScript' message, where the blue line usually shows up.

  • Another problem is that when we click at the `From' button in any e-mail, shouldn't it mean that the system should check all mails? But when I attempt doing the same, it doesn't check even a single mail. Please help me as my mailbox now contains 200 mails and is full. To top it all, I am able to neither receive new mails nor delete existing, unwanted mails.

  • I recently downloaded and installed a new version of Internet Explorer — IE6. Now the problem is that I am not able to see any Web site.

Please suggest a solution. - Vishal

It is evident that you have a problem running JavaScript code, which is why you get the JavaScript error on the status bar of your browser. To solve this problem, please see that you have JavaScript enabled in your browser options. To make it simple, you can reset your browser settings to the defaults to have this problem solved. To do this, please open Internet Explorer, point to tools {gt} options and then select the `Advanced' tab. Click on the `Restore Defaults' button and click `Apply'. Next select the security tab, where you will have different security Zones displayed. Select each zone one by one and click on the `Default level' button for each zone and finally click on OK. Restart the system and try browsing.

As for the browsing problem in IE 6, please open the browser point to files and see if `Work Offline' is ticked. If it is ticked, click on it to un-tick it. Next, go to tools {gt} options and select the connection tab. You should have at least one connection dialer listed there. If you have a connection, please select that and click on settings and verify that the connection information is correct. If there is no connection dialer, then please click on the `Setup' button and follow the wizard to configure a new connection.
