Letters Vindicated!
Dear Sir, This is regarding the cover story, Growing Drop by Drop, in eWorld dated February 25, 2004. The article was an excellent overview of middle-level IT companies. I wish to state here that I had conveyed the same views during a management meeting held 15 months ago. But then my theories had found few takers, with the charge being that I was diffident to face the market. But today I am happy to note that the same theory is unfolding with such rapidity that they are not willing to accept the market reality. Organisational leaders have adorned the traditional Indian elephant's face an ornamental tusk for the world to admire but worn out teeth inside. They tell the outer world about the deals they win, but not about lost deals or mounting overheads. For survival, it is essential that you make the right decisions at the right time for small players, it is mergers with bigger players or equal players within the same business segment. The latter rarely happens and the former is the only option left to survive. Vasan Srivathsa
