Problems with Internet Explorer

As my computer was very slow and even non-Internet applications were crashing, I suspected a virus and cleaned out the system with Avast Antivirus. But Internet Explorer still has problems, and recently it closed about eight times. When the Internet screens are running, this message suddenly flashes across: "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem. It needs to close now. We are sorry for the inconvenience," and all the IE screens either stop functioning or hang completely and even pressing control + alt + delete does not work. The only other alternative that I am left with is to restart the computer. As an alternative to Internet Explorer Version 6, I had installed a free browser called Crazy Browser. It worked perfectly for about a week but of late even that has started crashing frequently. The C drive has 250 MB of free space and yet the Internet-based applications keep hanging. Please suggest a solution. - Ramesh Ramanan

To begin with, please repair IE and overrun the Windows installation. If this doesn't help, then it implies that IE is experiencing some problem with third party software and the plug-in installed, such as toolbars, add blockers, addins etc. Please follow the procedure below; it will help determine whether the problem is due to the third-party software.

Please open IE, point to tools -{gt} Internet Options -{gt} Advanced -{gt} under the head "Browser" uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions"; restart the system and see if this solves the problem. If it does, then you can exactly determine which third-party program caused this issue by uninstalling them one by one.

Hope this helps. However, if the problem persists, please get back to us with the following information: Click the "click here" link at the bottom of the message box. You should see the following information, AppName, AppVer, ModName, ModVer and Offset. Please provide us with this information also, as this will help in determining which module has caused the error.
