Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Shared log-in
J. Prabakaran There are two ways of solving the problem. One, you have to give access for "Everyone" in your "Share Permission" on the folder you have shared. To do this, please right click on the folder you have shared, select the "Sharing" tab, click on "Permissions", add "Everyone" and give full access for it. Or set a password for the administrator in Win2000 and use this user name and password to access the Win2000 share from Win98. It is better that you map the Win2000 share and use it in Win98. To map the Win 2000 share, please open "My computer" in your Win 98 computer; click on the tools menu and select "Map network drive"; in the dialog box that shows up, type in the path of your server share like \\servername\sharename, where server name is the computer name of the Win 2000 PC, and share name is the name of the folder you have shared. Once this is done, you will see this appear as a drive letter on "My Computer" and you will also be automatically prompted for the Win 2000 password at the time of logging in.
