Trouble playing games

I am using a PC with these specifications: P4 Intel 1.8 Ghz, 128 MB Ram, 1.44 MB FDD, 40 GB hard disk with WIN 98 as the operating system.. Whenever I play games such as Gob man, Dave, Speed, etc, the machine suddenly shuts down or hangs. Please suggest a solution. Do I need any supporting software?

Please follow these steps to solve your problem:

  • The RAM might have a few bit errors, please try correcting them. Clean the rust off the pins and replace them.

  • Please check that you have installed the correct drivers for your video and audio chips.

  • Try running the game from DOS mode (boot in DOS mode); if it works well in DOS mode then you will have to check your DOS memory allocation, make all as Auto.

  • If you have a provision in the game option to change the video and audio settings, try disabling or changing them to a different setting and see if the problem is solved.

  • And last, please scan your system for bad sectors.
