Correcting colour

My marriage videocassette was converted into CD. But while copying, the colour was not just right — it appeared much brighter than what was in my videocassette. How can I correct the excess colour in the aveseq1.dat file and is it possible to create another file with the corrected colour? In Windows Media Player, I am able to change the colour, but unable to create another file with the corrected colour.

My system is Pentium IV with 248 MB RAM, multimedia and 40 GB hard disk. Can I source any tools from the Net? Please suggest a solution.

If you have Windows XP system, then you can use Windows Movie Maker software to edit your video. If you have problem importing it, then rename the .dat file to .mpg. You can get the latest version for the Movie Maker at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/ updates/moviemaker2.mspx.

There are some freeware video edition tools available on the Net that you can use to edit your video file. Here is a link where you can get some.

"Honestech Video Editor" at http://www.snapfiles.com/shareware/gmm/swvideoedit.html and

"Ulead VideoStudio" at http://www.sofotex.com/Ulead-VideoStudio-download_L11805.html
